A new method for detecting incomplete Rh antibodies by means of methylene blue.

Abstract

Summary A method of detecting incomplete Rh antibodies by means of methylene blue dye is presented. The results of the experimental and clinical investigations with this method are reported. Methylene blue dye indicates the presence of incomplete Rh antibodies by precipitation and by colour reaction. The methylene blue test is a simple, new method of detecting incomplete Rh antibodies, and differs from any technique used so far. Further possibilities of applying the methylene blue test are discussed. Résumé Une méthode pour la mise en évidence d'anticorps Rh incomplets par le bleu de méthylée est décrite. Les résultats expérimentaux et cliniques obtenus par cette méthode sont présentés. La réaction au bleu de méthylée indiquant la présence d'anticorps Rh incomplets consiste en une précipitation et une coloration intense des hématies employées. La réaction au bleu de méthylèhe est une méthode simple et nouvelle pour la mise en évidence des anticorps Rh incomplets; elle diffère de toutes les autres méthodes employées jusqu'à présent. D'autres possibilités d'application de cette méthode sont discutées. Zusammenfassung Eine Methode zum Nachweis von inkompletten Rhesusantikörpern durch Verwendung von Methylenblau wird beschrieben. Die Ergebnisse der experimentellen und klinischen Untersuchungen werden mitgeteilt. Methylenblau bewirkt bei Anwesenheit von inkompletten Rhesusantikörpern eine Ausfällung und eine Farbreaktion. Der Methylenblautest ist eine neue, einfache, von den bisherigen Methoden verschiedene Methode zum Nachweis von inkompletten Rhesusantikörpern. Die möglichen weiteren Anwendungsgebiete des Methylenblautestes werden diskutiert.
