Abstract

AbstractMegalyra troglodytes sp. n. is described from sandstone overhangs in northern Australia where it parasitises the immature stages of an undescribed, subsocial species of Arpactophilus Smith (Sphecidae), which nests in the abandoned mud nests of other Hymenoptera. All previous records have indicated that megalyrids parasitise wood‐boring, coleopterous larvae. The female pupa of M. troglodytes is described.
