A new isospin-invariant form of the interacting boson model

Abstract

A simple version of the IBM with a U(9) group structure is proposed to study the four-nucleon correlations induced by the interplay between isovector and isoscalar components of the residual nuclear forces. Subgroup chains, basis, one-boson matrix elements, Casimir operations and eigenenergies of different limiting cases have been found.
