Abstract

A new isocoumarin, xylariamalirin (1), was isolated from the n-BuOH-soluble fraction of the fermentation broth of an endophytic fungus Xylaria mali, derived from the Taiwanese Lepidagathis stenophyllTaiwana C. B. Clarke ex Hayata (Acanthaceae) growing in the Hengchun Peninsula of southern . The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses, including 1D and 2D NMR experiments, and by HR-ESI-MS mass spectrometry.
