Abstract

The ice covering on the overhead transmission line has become an important factor to the safe and stable operation of the electric power system. The quality of the power transmission line icing image collected from natural environment directly is poor. Aiming at the problem that the icing edge is difficult to be accurately extracted, an edge detection of the icing image of the transmission line based on the wavelet transform and the morphology fusion is proposed. Edge detection of transmission lines is extracted by image preprocessing, edge detection of fusion and the line detection, and then icing thickness of the power transmission line is calculated through the comparison of the edge pixel points.
