Abstract
A novel high voltage step-up DC/DC converter named Boost-2Zeta converter is proposed and thoroughly analyzed in this paper. This converter is obtained from the combination of two techniques to improve the DC/DC converters voltage conversion ratio that are: (i) the additive auto-transformer connection of the coupled-inductor of the Zeta converter; and (ii) the association of DC/DC converters with series connected outputs applied to the modified Zeta with the boost converter. Since a converter integration technique combines the Zeta and boost input sections, both shares the same input inductor and the switch, reducing the proposed component count. Furthermore, this converter presents the combined features of both standard DC/DC converters, which are low input current ripple (boost feature) and low output current ripple (Zeta feature). Experimental results obtained from a laboratory are presented and confirm the theoretical analyses.
