Abstract
This paper focuses on the description and behavior of a new type of patented textured HDPE geomembrane which is trademarked under the name FrictionFlex TM. Information about its manufacture is presented. The adhesive strength of the coating particles which are sprayed onto the sheet when they are at the proper elevated temperature is also considered. The resulting friction angle has been measured for a number of soil types and compared to comparable values of geomembranes made from smooth sheets.
