Abstract
In this paper, an analysis of multicarrier (MC) communication technique in the context of Cognitive Radio is realized. The features of alternative modulation based on filter bank - non-overlap and Half-overlap subchannel Filtered MultiTone (FMT) will be mentioned. However, half-overlap FMT system proposed in [6] introduces intercarrier interference (ICI) due to the loss of orthogonality which may reduce system performance. In order to keep subcarriers orthogonal and thereby eliminate ICI, an improved Half-overlap FMT system with orthogonal subcarriers based on cascaded integrator-comb (CIC) filter will be proposed and a comparison will be conducted. Both the simulation and measure results show that the proposed modulation technique is a good candidate for Cognitive Radio.
