Abstract

This paper describes an attempt to enhance organizational behavior and personnel management education by extending the field of business simulation gaming into qualitative behavioral decision-making. Specifically, a simulation game is described which allows players to make decisions of a qualitative nature in a simulated business environment. The Simulation of Organizational Behavior Game is human resources simulation, written in FORTRAN IV, which has been classroom tested by both undergraduate and graduate students. Students display a great degree of appreciation and comprehension of human resources topics. Educators who have used the game find it efficient and rewarding to teach the better motivated students which this type of computer-assisted simulation appears to produce.
