Abstract

Modern materials have become crucial to the distinction of premium automobile interiors. In the case of a qualitative evaluation of plastic surfaces, haptic is emerging as a key field of innovation. Together with the BMW Group, Intier Automotive, a company of Magna International, has developed an IMC-Slush technology which allows an economical production of highly quality, multi-coloured surfaces. This technology allows greater design freedom, while at the same time the ability to vary haptic impression from velvety-dry to rubber-like.
