Abstract

A new 3D metal–organic framework (MOF) derived from the 1D [Mo3O10]n2n− chains and the flexible N,N'-bis(5-methyl-2-pyrazinecarboxamide)-1,2-ethane (bmpae), [Cu(bmpae)0.5(Mo3O10)(H2O)]·H2O (1) has been hydrothermally synthesized. Crystal analysis reveals that complex 1 is a 3D polyoxometalate (POM)-based MOF containing the 2D [Cu(bmpae)0.5]n2n+ metal–organic layers and the 1D inorganic [Mo3O10]n2n− chains. The electrochemical behaviors and electrochemical sensing property of the title complex were studied, and its adsorption capacities towards organic dyes gentian violet (GV) and methylene blue (MB) were also investigated.
