Abstract

The present work concerns Nitrofural polymorphism. The analysis of individual Nitrofural polymorphs was performed using IR spectroscopy, XRD, and DSC. The techniques of reflection and transmission FTIR spectroscopy were used as the primary analytical tool in this study. The possibility of synthesis of unknown Nitrofural polymorphs under shock crystallization on As2Se3 chalcogenide glass was investigated. The analysis revealed an extremely high correlation between our results and those indicated in the scientific research periodicals about this analyte and its three known polymorphs. Also, the ability of the analyte to form new polyphorms and the possibility to evaluate their presence in a polymorphic mixture using IR spectroscopy, XRD, and DSC analysis were discussed.
