Abstract

The Triassic insects are relatively abundant from the Anisian to Rhaetian stages. Several well-known Triassic insect localities are distributed worldwide. Examples include the Anisian Grès à Voltzia in France, the Ladinian–Carnian Madygen Formation in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, the Cow Branch Formation of the latest Triassic in the USA, and the Carnian Molteno Formation in South Africa (Grimaldi & Engel, 2005).
