Abstract
A new formula of specific rain attenuation aRb has been studied, the analytic expressions for a and b are regressed as function of operating frequency and polarization of microwave and millimeter wave system, which are based on the values given by International Telecommunication Union-Radio communication. The results of a and b calculated by this formula are in good agreement with that of tabulated by ITU-R for the power-law relationship of specific attenuation for rain for use in prediction methods.
