Abstract

In this study, fast discrete Curvelet transform (FDCT) spread OFDM waveform (FWHT-FDCT-OFDM) based on fast Walsh Hadamard transform (FWHT) alternative to OFDM waveform is proposed for next generation wireless communication systems. The proposed waveform is a combination of FWHT and FDCT with OFDM waveform. The proposed waveform is tested with numerical simulation studies over bit error rate (BER) and peak to average power ratio (PAPR) performance metrics. With the proposed waveform, the achievement of approximately 2.2 dB PAPR gain in PAPR performances and approximately 6.5 dB SNR gain in BER performances against classical OFDM and FDCT-OFDM waveforms clearly demonstrates the contributions of the proposed study.
