Abstract

In this paper, we identify that the one-dimensional porous-elasticity equations have two vibration modes for wave propagations being one them of the second spectrum type. This last is very common in the Timoshenko beam theory and it predicts an infinite speed at lower frequency. Moreover, we consider a new set of porous-elasticity equations that are free of second spectrum. In that case the exponential decay property holds for any values of coefficients of system.
