Abstract

Superconducting condenser has the characteristics of small excitation resistance and small transient and sub transient reactance. Therefore, compared with conventional condenser, superconducting condenser can output greater reactive power and has better reactive power compensation characteristics. Just like the conventional condenser, the superconducting condenser also needs to be equipped with its supporting excitation power supply. At present, there is less research on the excitation power supply of the superconducting condenser. Therefore, this paper proposes a new excitation power supply system relative to the superconducting condenser, which lays a theoretical foundation for the future research work. Firstly, the structural characteristics of the 10M var HTS condenser are described, and the characteristics of the excitation winding are defined; Secondly, based on the characteristics of the excitation winding, a new design scheme of excitation power supply system is proposed: the scheme can achieve the separation of forced excitation module and constant excitation module, and the forced excitation module uses uncontrolled rectifier to provide high voltage and strong current; Constant excitation module uses four intersecting and staggered parallel buck circuit as low ripple power supply, which can not only ensure the speed of forced excitation, but also ensure the high precision requirements of constant excitation. Finally, Matlab / Simulink simulation software is used to verify the feasibility of the excitation system.
