Abstract

Cleidogona medialis, a new milliped species distinguished by a pair of medially directed processes arising from the anterior face of the colpocoxites, is described from Blowing Rock, Watauga County, North Carolina. It belongs to the atypical subgroup of the major-group and is most closely related to C. fidelitor Shear. With the discovery of this species and C. tallapoosa Shear in Cherokee County, 11 species of Cleidogona are known to occur in North Carolina.
