Abstract

A new dihydroagarofuran sesquiterpene polyester, fokienagarofuran J (1), has been isolated from the roots of Microtropis fokienensis, together with six known compounds, 2,6-dimethoxy-p-benzoquinone (2), β-sitostenone (3), 6β-hydroxystigmast-4-en-3-one (4), celahin C (5), salasol A (6), and fokienagarofuran D (7). The structure of the new compound 1 was determined through spectroscopic and MS analyses. Among the isolates, fokienagarofuran J (1) and fokienagarofuran D (7) showed potent inhibition with IC50 values of 1.05 and 0.89 μg/mL, respectively, against the DLD-1 cell line. In addition, compounds 1 and 7 exhibited cytotoxicities, with IC50 values of 0.26 and 0.15 μg/mL, respectively, against IMR-32 cell line.
