Abstract

Abstract A new device for simultaneous time-resolved measurements of electromotive force (EMF) and interfacial tension (IT) at liquid–liquid interfaces is described. Two examples of applications are presented: 1) measurement of the variations in IT during simulated EMF measurements in model membrane-based ion-selective electrodes, and 2) measurements of transient changes in EMF in a system displaying IT oscillations without any chemical reaction.
