Abstract

A new technique for design of multivariable feed-back control systems, based on singular value analysis is presented. Using matrix fraction description (MFD) representations, a Diophantine equation based approach to singular value shaping is developed. The approach combines use of known frequency domain properties of linear quadratic optimal regulator/filters with minimization of quadratic norm of weighted sensitivity function.
