Abstract

The problem of communication interruption caused by obstacles blocking optical signal transmission in wireless optical communication is studied. A solution for alternate transmission of optical signals using direct link system and diffuse link system is proposed. The light source in the communication system is LED, and the optical signal is coded and modulated by orthogonal space-time coding and 4-pulse position modulation. The communication system device is designed as an integrated machine with the functions of both direct transmitting and receiving optical signals and diffuse transmitting and receiving optical signals. Its working principle is that when the optical signal transmission of the direct link is blocked by obstacles. It will automatically switch to the diffuse link and the channel to send and receive signals. The simulation results show that the perfect combination of these two functions can effectively solve the problem of communication interruption caused by obstacles blocking optical signal transmission in the process of wireless optical communication. The non-blocking communication is realized.
