Abstract

Have women assumed the status of a fetal container? Has the woman been stripped of her rights to bodily privacy? Wherein lies the power of the state to intrude into the activities of a pregnant woman? This article deals with the topic of pregnant women who use drugs and the issue of how far, if at all, the state can go in determining what a woman can/cannot do with her body when pregnant.
