Abstract

A convenient and short synthesis (3 steps, 50% overall yield) of the bifunctional chelating agent 1-(4-aminobenzyl)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-N′-,N″-,N‴-triacetic acid ( 4 ) via a boron-protection strategy is reported.
