Abstract

Output-persistent-excitation (OPE) is a necessary and sufficient condition to guarantee uniform global asymptotic stability (UGAS) of a switched nonlinear time-varying (NLTV) system when it is already uniform global stable. The concept of an OPE pair has been proposed to simplify the verification of the OPE condition of one system from the OPE condition of the other. This paper presents a new tool that can generate an OPE pair by using a simplified dynamic system with the same output where the simplified system is required to have almost the same behave as the original system when the output approaches to zero. Consequently, new stability results can be obtained. An example is presented to show the usefulness of the proposed results.
