Abstract
Left atrial catheters are commonly used to guide the intraoperative and postoperative care of patients with congenital heart disease. Complications associated with these catheters include air embolism to the systemic circulation, thrombosis at the catheter tip, bleeding after removal, retention of the catheter, and aortic or mitral prosthetic valve entrapment.
