Abstract

A new dyad based on C 60 and N,N-dimethylaniline donor was synthesized and characterized by NMR and MALDI-TOF methods. UV-Vis spectra and fluorescence spectra of the dyad were measured to study the intramolecular charge-transfer interaction After the addition of one drop of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) to the toluene solution of the dyad, the UV-Vis spectrum showed hyperchromic shift, and the fluorescence spectrum showed hypochromic shift, respectively. This reveals that there are intramolecular charge-transfer interaction from N,N-dimethylaniline moiety to C 60 in both ground and excited state.
