Abstract

AbstractThe asymmetry of the stiffness matrix in the boundary element method makes the coupling of the boundary and finite element methods difficult. In the paper, the author presents a new boundary element method model in which the stiffness matrix in the model is close to symmetry. After symmetrization, the stiffness matrix can be used as an ordinary finite element type element stiffness matrix to be assembled in the total stiffness matrix. Compared with the directly symmetrized model,1,2 the model in the paper has higher accuracy.
