Abstract

We describe Parababinskaia douteaui sp. nov., second representative of its genus in the mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber. This genus was originally known after a compression fossil from the Brazilian Crato Formation. The five other Burmese amber genera of Babinskaiidae are currently endemic to this area. This Early Cretaceous antlion family remains unrecorded after the Cenomanian.
