Abstract

The authors propose a new automatic optical frequency-control method for fast frequency switching. Simulation and experimental results for the new method are presented. In the experiment, the frequency of an optical coherent receiver was changed freely and accurately and was not affected by the thermal effect of the laser diode. By this method, switching time was reduced to less than one tenth that of an uncontrolled laser diode.
