Abstract

We present a new approximation scheme for the centrifugal term, and use this new approach to solve the Schrödinger equation with the Hulthén potential for the arbitrary angular momentum states. The bound state energy spectra and the unnormalized radial wavefunctions have been approximately obtained in a closed form. The numerical results show that our results are in good agreement with those obtained by using the program based on a numerical integration procedure. The present method is a systematic one and it is very efficient and practical.
