Abstract
The work being carried out in ‘vanguard’ sites has implications for healthcare organisations. Vanguards have been tasked with making health services more accessible and effective by dismantling NHS care pathways that no longer work well and by taking a fresh approach to service design. NHS England envisages that the new care models will be blueprints for the future NHS.
