Abstract

A solution to the linear optimal control problem with zero terminal error is presented in the form in which a compensation input is given to a linear state feedback regulator. For time-invariant systems, the solution is easy to realize because the system becomes the optimal regulator with the steady-state control law. A numerical procedure to obtain the compensation input by means of transition matrix computation without loss of accuracy is also presented.
