Abstract

The theoretic-information capacity of multiple antenna systems was shown to provide high data-rate services in Rayleigh-fading channels. To realize high capacity, Foschini first proposed the layered space-tune structure. This paper provides a new approach to iterative receiver design for layered space-time systems in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels. We consider joint detection and iterative multi-path decoding techniques in this paper. By making iteration between decoders associated with different paths, the proposed receiver can attain extra gain due to multi-path diversities. Simulation results show that the proposed iterative receiver is 2 dB superior than a conversional iterative parallel-interference-canceller receiver.
