Abstract
An innovative approach is proposed to construct a WENO (Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory) scheme by using a hybrid power-exponential polynomial interpolation. As a result, the Taylor series expansions of the weight functions around the smooth regions can be analytically determined. These Taylor expansions can be used to improve the accuracy of a WENO scheme. Preliminary numerical result is very promising.
