Abstract

Climate change is considered one of the greatest challenges in the relationship between humans and nature. One general belief is that this latest process of climate change is being accelerated (or even caused) by human greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions. Based on that, almost all suggested actions to cope with the problem are about reducing GHG emissions. Therefore, on this essay, the purpose is to show why this current approach chosen by most groups of society to deal with climate change may not be accurate, as well as not sufficient. Also, the motivations for a new approach are presented, suggesting what sort of activities could (should) be done in order for society to successfully cope with climate change.
