Abstract

This paper presents a new approach for the estimation of the load loss factor. This factor is essential to calculate the electrical energy losses in electrical power distribution networks. The represented approach can estimate the load loss factor, especially for those distribution lines which their load profile has tedious to repetition and routine character like in industrial plants or for any other objects with similar load profiles.A mathematical formulation of the problem has been developed and solved. The equivalent working hours are calculated based on a newly derived equation. The equivalent working hours value leads to determine the amount of electrical energy losses in distribution lines. A numerical example and discussion has been presented to illustrate the significance of the proposed method.
