Abstract

Efficient coreactants are of high importance in electrochemiluminescence sensing. Herein, 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide was demonstrated as an effective coreactant for tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) electrochemiluminescence system for the first time. The new electrochemiluminescence system showed a good sensing performance for H2O2 on the basis of quenching of the electrochemiluminescence intensity. It allows the detection of H2O2 in the dynamic range of 0.5–200 µM. The limit of detections for H2O2 was 0.33 µM (3σ/m). In addition, the developed ECL system exhibited satisfactory recoveries for H2O2 sensing in real samples.
