Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to present a new concept in and an algorithm for fuzzy multiobjective programming. The new algorithm integrates the fuzzy multiobjective programming methods developed by Hannan (1981) and Sakawa (1983). The paper begins by first discussing conventional fuzzy programming and then discusses the justification for incorporating Hannan's methods with Sakawa's. Next, the new algorithm is expressed in its mathematical form, and the 'compromise factor' is introduced and then elaborated on. Finally, a numerical example, with five different membership functions, is presented to demonstrate the new algorithm's application. Suggestions for further research are also given. >
