Abstract

A new algorithm is proposed for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of coherent sources in the presence of colored noise fields, which is called spatial smoothing difference method and is used to solve the question of revising noise covariance matrix disturbance in the presence of coherent sources. This algorithm can eliminate the colored noise effect on the array structure by taking the difference between the spatial smoothing matrixes, and uses the propagator method to estimate the DOA of signals. This can reduce the computation and can estimate more signals. The realized complexity is also reduced for the incoherent and coherent signals are estimated simultaneously. Computer simulation results verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
