Abstract

To avoid the deficiency of the integrated navigation based on inertial navigation system (INS) and global position system (GPS), a new passive location algorithm is proposed and applied to aided navigation. In the algorithm, the position and the velocity of the aircraft can be estimated from the electromagnetic wave emitted by a radio broadcast of the enemy state. After giving the details of the algorithm, we analyze the observability conditions and the error of the algorithm. Then simulation is carried out and results show that the aided navigation has high location precision and good convergence performance and is less affected by the initial value which it is very important in the practical system. Moreover, a new integrated navigation system based on INS, GPS and passive location is built. And the applications and key techniques of the passive location algorithm in aided navigation are discussed, such as rapid filtration and precise position, time and space synchronization, real-time information processing, and so on.
