Abstract

The crystal structure of the room-temperature monoclinic phase of high-deuteration DKDP has been determined by neutron diffraction measurements on a single crystal. The arrangement of K, P and O atoms is essentially that determined previously by X-ray diffraction: the D atoms have been located. It is confirmed that the monoclinic-tetragonal transition is a reconstructive one involving large (> 1 Å) relative atomic displacements.
