Abstract
Many scientific and medical emojis (ie, small digital images or icons used to express an idea or emotion) are now in use. For instance, the anatomical heart and lung emojis were released in 2020.1 Some health professionals have proposed the use of emojis in clinical or research settings to assess various preferences, such as choice of food.2 The use of emojis in science is only just being explored, but expansion of emojis to scientific and medical contexts could be useful in research settings by the biomedical community.
