Abstract

A method for computerized automatic diagnosis of the infant pulmonary system is presented. Based on tidal breathing flow volume loops, the concept offers diagnostic decision support based on statistical analysis of over 600 breath strokes and an automatic pattern recognition system featuring a neural network classification algorithm. At the moment, the system allows to classifiy about 70 % of the breath strokes right and 15 % wrong with another 15 % being rejected.
