Abstract

AbstractOn the basis of extensive fieldwork, a first survey of carnivorous plants occurring on inselbergs is provided. Inselbergs are mostly dome‐shaped granitic or gneissic outcrops with scarce vegetation cover. They are important habitats for carnivorous plants in wooded tropical areas. Three families of carnivorous plants (Droseraceae, Lentibulariaceae, Nepenthaceae), including four genera and 45 species are reported from various inselberg habitats. Carnivorous plant families and genera are represented on inselbergs proportionally to their importance in the regional species pool.
