Abstract

This paper deals with Hyers–Ulam stability (HUS) of the first-order linear differential equation x′−a(t)x=0, where a(t) is a real-valued, continuous, periodic function with period T. It is well known that if a(t)≡a, then x′−ax=0 has HUS on R if and only if a≠0. The purpose of this study is to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for HUS of first-order periodic linear differential equations on R.
