Abstract

The design of a frequency stabilized single-mode pulsed dye laser with a double-prism beam expander pumped by a copper vapor laser (CVL) and its output characteristics are described. The frequency width of the laser was controlled by the reflectivity of an output mirror and a pump laser pulse duration. And frequency jitter was minimized by realizing a laminar dye flow. By using active stabilization of the cavity length, a frequency drift for long term operation of within 30 MHz and a frequency width of about 60 MHz were obtained.
