Abstract

The main objective of this essay is to analyze how the production’s conditions of a massive popular newspaper called Diario Gaucho were affected by the narrative structure of texts. To reach this purpose, we observed the productive process and the producers’ discourse about the journalistic work. In our observation, we confirmed the importance of narrative structure as a strategy of production, based on the news-value called by Wolf (1995) as “readers’ interest”. According our analysis, the journalists are conditioned by the image of the newspaper’s readers.
