Abstract

AbstractAn ossuary of the nineteenth Century in Toledo County, Spain, produced a spontaneously mummified young girl in a very good state of preservation. The body was studied macroscopically, radiographically and microscopically. The anathomopathological analysis showed evidence of lesions in the muscular tissue of arms and forearms. A positive identification of Trinchinella Spiralis was made.We present the lesions and we discuss the palaeopathological diagnosis and its palaeonutritional and cultural implications.
