Abstract

A 2D Multiple-Relaxation-Time (MRT) lattice Boltzmann (LB) is used to simulate the coupled mixed convection and surface radiation in a square double lid-driven cavity. The parameters governing the problem are the inclination angle (0°≤γ≤180°), the emissivity of the walls (0≤ε≤1), the Reynolds number (Re=100), the Richardson number (0.01≤Ri≤100) and the Grashof number (102≤Gr≤106). The results obtained show significant effects of the Richardson number on the overall structure of the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The radiation effect on the behavior of the fluid within the cavity and the total Nusselt number is considerable, particularly at high values of Richardson number.
